I’m so excited!

I have 24 people confirmed for my Wildtree tastings this weekend and next week. 24 people. Can you believe it? It makes a huge difference to use the suggestions the experts give rather than just doing it my own way! (Isn’t that always true?) And I’ll be calling them all and reminding them the night before, so they won’t forget.

Make sure you let me know if there is anything you want to order for you before Sept. 9.

Educational post

I’m going to show a picture of my stitches, just for those of you who might have this surgery done some day. I think it is really interesting how many stitches he put in. I was afraid it would come apart if I moved my fingers too much, but as you can see, it is really stitched up well. I count about 8 or 9 stitches … hard to tell even in person.  That also explains why it hurt the first day. Other than the cut, there were about 16 or 18 puncture wounds, small, but still painful. Just something to be aware of in your decision whether to take pain medication before the numbness wears off. TAKE IT!

First a nice flower picture, just so no one stumbles on the stitches picture without wanting to!

Dad’s first day

Dad was off to the hospital this a.m. for his first day of work there. He was pretty nervous, but it sounds like he had a good time. There were 7 new employees at their clinic, but there were orientations also going on in Eau Claire and Marshfield and one other spot and they communicated between the places some, too. Of the 7, two were people he already knew from his past work experiences.

We had breakfast together, since he didn’t have to leave until 7:10, and he was also home for supper, actually a little earlier than he usually will be. Then he was off to Chippewa at about 6:00 to work there 4 hours and be home at about 10:30. It is a bit of a grind, but he wants to do it for three or four weeks to wrap things up in Chippewa and make a little extra money while he can.

I’m very busy getting my Wildtree business started, so I don’t mind being home alone in the evening. I spend a lot of time on the phone or the computer anyway.

Here is proof he works at the hospital now!

Polka Sunday and Alfredo sauce

I made chicken Alfredo last night and was it ever good!! I sauteed the pieces of chicken in garlic infused grapeseed oil, then drained it and put the Alfredo sauce (which was just 1/2 cup of the mix, some milk and some butter) over it. We served it over egg noodles, since I didn’t have fettucinni, and it was so delicious. I’ll definitely be making that again. I also tossed the broccoli with some butter flavored grapeseed oil and some garlic and herb seasoning. Also very tasty.

Today was the long-awaited polka service at church. I guess the normal way to do them is to play hymns as they are, but with more of a polka beat and feel, and using polka band instruments. Not us. We actually played familiar polkas (Beer Barrel Polka, anyone?) that the pastor had fit words from a familiar hymn to. Actually he made up the words for a couple, which added to the confusion. But, despite the grumbling of his wife as she attempted to learn the vocal parts well enough to lead, it actually went fine and everyone seemed to have a good time. It didn’t disrupt the service, because everything else was basically the same as normal. So we still had the regular prayers and children’s message and sermon. Just a little goofy music.

I’m looking forward to returning to work tomorrow and even more to getting this darn bandage off Tuesday. It is starting to get annoying and rather dirty!

Slow Saturday

I’m getting pretty sick of having a bum hand. I’m just not a very patient person.

I tried to call people to invite them to my Wildtree launches next weekend and both times (last evening and this morning) I didn’t find hardly anyone at home. It is very frustrating. How am I supposed to invite people if they don’t answer their phones when I call? I’m going to try again about 4:30 this afternoon – before the supper hour, but when people should be returning home, you would think, if they were out for the day.

I cleaned up the construction site for dad this a.m. and burned all the scrap lumber, which was quite a heap. Now my arms itch from packing old insulation into the garbage bag.

And I’m only having Slimfast and fruit and vegetables because I’ve gained so much sitting around and not being able to exercise like usual. I did go for my usual Saturday a.m. walk/run, though.

All in all, not the best day…

Wildtree

My Wildtree stuff came today !!! Such a long wait, so I was really excited. I can’t wait to try everything. I opened one thing and tried it – Asian Ginger Plum dressing and marinade. I dipped tomatoes in it.  Yummm.

I think I posted my website a few weeks ago, so you can go there and look at the catalog. Let me know what you want to try. I get it 20% off, so that is what all you family members can buy it for, too.  Just so you know, here is the price breakdown if you don’t want to do the math yourself.  You do need to submit your order directly to me to get these prices, though.

Item cost/ your cost:

$5.00/ $4.00           $5.50/ $4.40         $6.00/ $4.80           $6.50/ $5.20          $7.00/ $5.60

$7.50/ $6.00           $8.00/ $6.40         $8.50/ $6.80            $9.00/ $7.20          $9.50/ $7.60

$10.00/ $8.00        $10.50/ $8.40       $11.00/ $8.80          $11.50/ $9.20     $12.00/ $9.60

$12.50/ $10.00     $13.00/ $10.40      $13.50/ $10.80      $14.00/ $11.20   $15.00/ $12.00

I’d have to say there are some things that are really quite expensive (probably because they are really good.) But there are other things that are not so bad for the number of servings and the fact that it is free of chemicals, etc.

My launch tastings are next weekend and the following Tuesday and I plan to sent my order in on the 9th of September.

Alone today

Dad went back to work today and I’m home alone. I’m doing fine. I’m getting a lot of personal trainer studying done because I’m not so sleepy today. I also went for two walks and did some tai chi this a.m.  I probably could have gone to work, but I have so very many sick days to use that I figured I might as well use a few of them!

We were supposed to look at a duplex here in New Auburn yesterday but the realtor forgot. She felt terrible and rescheduled for today.

Dad got a lot done at the new house the past couple days, between waiting on me hand and foot! The east wall of the bathroom is finally framed in, so he can sheet rock that tonight and then finish the wiring in that area. Exciting! Also, he cut out the opening where the higher living room will connect to the lower and it looks a lot different. I like it!

Taking it easy?

As you probably could guess, I am not very good at taking it easy. I did much more than I should during the afternoon before the numbness wore off and paid for it last night.  Fortunately I survived and am feeling much better today as long as I take ibuprofen.  As you can see, I have progressed to typing, although I can’t use more than a finger or two on my right hand and have to use the space bar with my left.

Mostly today will be studying my personal trainer stuff and napping. And taking forever to do simple things like go to the bathroom. It is a gorgeous day, though, so I hope to get outside some, too.

Getting ready

Tomorrow is the day, so I’m busy getting everything done that takes two hands. I did all the weekly cleaning and have all the mowing just about done. They changed my appt, so my surgery is at noon. Pray for the doctor if you think of it. I want him to do a really good job, as you can imagine!
