I’m going to show a picture of my stitches, just for those of you who might have this surgery done some day. I think it is really interesting how many stitches he put in. I was afraid it would come apart if I moved my fingers too much, but as you can see, it is really stitched up well. I count about 8 or 9 stitches … hard to tell even in person. That also explains why it hurt the first day. Other than the cut, there were about 16 or 18 puncture wounds, small, but still painful. Just something to be aware of in your decision whether to take pain medication before the numbness wears off. TAKE IT!

I thought so. What I didn’t show is the bruise that goes from my wrist about halfway to my elbow. I’m not sure what caused that, but it is unsightly! No picture though – that would be sympathy seeking!
