I made chicken Alfredo last night and was it ever good!! I sauteed the pieces of chicken in garlic infused grapeseed oil, then drained it and put the Alfredo sauce (which was just 1/2 cup of the mix, some milk and some butter) over it. We served it over egg noodles, since I didn’t have fettucinni, and it was so delicious. I’ll definitely be making that again. I also tossed the broccoli with some butter flavored grapeseed oil and some garlic and herb seasoning. Also very tasty.
Today was the long-awaited polka service at church. I guess the normal way to do them is to play hymns as they are, but with more of a polka beat and feel, and using polka band instruments. Not us. We actually played familiar polkas (Beer Barrel Polka, anyone?) that the pastor had fit words from a familiar hymn to. Actually he made up the words for a couple, which added to the confusion. But, despite the grumbling of his wife as she attempted to learn the vocal parts well enough to lead, it actually went fine and everyone seemed to have a good time. It didn’t disrupt the service, because everything else was basically the same as normal. So we still had the regular prayers and children’s message and sermon. Just a little goofy music.
I’m looking forward to returning to work tomorrow and even more to getting this darn bandage off Tuesday. It is starting to get annoying and rather dirty!
The thought of a polka service just cracks me up. 🙂
I’m glad you get your bandage off tomorrow–yippie!
