First of all, I’m having carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand next Tuesday, the 23rd. I know several people who have had it, so I’m not worried. It will be nice to be able to play the organ each Sunday without having my hand fall totally asleep in less than 10 minutes. I expect to be totally healed up and ready to go by the time choir rehearsals start in mid-September.
Dad decided not to totally quit at Pactiv until mid-September, so he will be working 2 jobs for a while. For one thing, he will still have insurance through Pactiv to cover my surgery. Plus he will have more time to get things wrapped up there, because he just isn’t finding he is able to get it all done by this Friday. But that also means he will not have all next week to work on the house. He will take off Tuesday to drive me to the dr., but he will work some hours the rest of the days.
As far as the house goes, we bought the tub and surround, then found it wouldn’t fit through either outside door, so we had to take one door totally off and strip it down to the studs to get the tub through. But it is in now, so we can build the wall around the bathroom. Other than that, we’ve been sheetrocking (slowly) and doing electrical. And I did some more tearing out of paneling in the laundry room. And Dad put the window into the bathroom. It was in the west end of the laundry room, where it just let in hot afternoon sun, so I, totally by myself, took it out and filled in the space with studs and put on a piece of plywood that we have to put siding over. Well, not totally by myself, because Dad gave me advice and handed me tools. 🙂
