You can see that the section of kitchen by the stove isn’t secured yet, nor is there counter top on that section. Actually, though, the piece we cut out for the sink is going to be big enough to put over that one little cabinet. Then we’ll just put a ceramic tile on top of it for the pans to be set on.
Do you guys remember putting in that post with the rounded edges that Thanksgiving when Krista first came home with Luke? I remember teaching her how to sheet rock on that post! It’s still standing.
A couple reasons the room looks so different now – the window in the corner is completely gone. It was where the big expanse of cabinets and counter top are. We got a lot more space by eliminating the window. The other thing is the box above the cabinets, which I think makes them look like they have always been there, which they haven’t. The sink is basically in the same place, but the window and the light over it are new. And the refrigerator used to be beside the stove, where the pantry now is.
I think that looks slick! I love the crisp white cabinets and the new window. And those hostas really look great around the trees. 🙂
That feels like forever ago. Tim was actually the one who invited me to Thanksgiving – not Luke!
After Luke and I put on Facebook that we were dating, Tim and I became Facebook friends and started talking and he told me I should come meet the family when Luke came home for Thanksgiving. Luke and I had only been dating a couple weeks at the time.
Haha! I totally remember that, now that you say that Krista! I was like “What are you doing, Tim?! They’ve only been dating a few weeks! You can’t just invite her to Thanksgiving!” But alas, it all turned out spectacularly. And I’m so glad that you came!!!
