We bought something….

We’ve been looking for one for quite a while and had just about given up, because the ones we saw were all so expensive. But there was this one on the lot just north of New Auburn and we jumped on it. We got it, plus a brand-new generator (which we will need, since we don’t have electricity at the property) for $2400. We thought that was really good. It is kind of old, but has a new fridge and a few other small new things.  And it has been well maintained. Nothing we would need to fix before we use it.

Fun! So are you planning to just park it at the property? Or what would you tow it with?

Yes, it is going out on the property. We need to find someone to tow it out there for us. We pulled it in with the car from the place where it was to our driveway at 126 North. (That one still isn’t rented, because the kitchen isn’t done.) That way we have running water and electricity to clean it really well. By the time the kids come over, though, we should have it set up in the country, so we can actually stay out there. That will be so fun!!! Except if a storm is predicted – then we would, of course, go to Chetek where it is safe.

When we first move to Tennessee, then, we would buy something to tow it with and tow it down there and park it in an RV park. That would be cheaper than renting a house or apartment until we find something we like to buy. Then, once we buy something in TN, we will tow it back to New Auburn, where it will live out its life on the country property.

The beauty of that plan is that we can basically have a place to live on the property, without having to build. Building was going to be impossible if we also wanted to buy something in TN, so this is a perfect solution!

I definitely consider this a gift from God, partly because of the timing, but also because it is exactly the age, condition, size, type – everything we wanted and at a great price. And he offered to throw in the generator for such a good price, not even knowing that we were going to need to buy one to use the trailer the way we intended. It is truly such a blessing, and I’m not just saying that to be spiritual!

That’s so cool! I’m sure the kids will love staying on the property (although Chloe is going through her “bug aversion” again, so you might have a little bit of drama to work through…)
