We didn’t really go out and buy anything special when we got out of debt. We just kept on doing what we were doing. But this week, Shopko had a couple of things that I’d been wanting for a long time on a huge sale. Like over 50% off! Plus, the trip to Europe didn’t get enough people to go and we’d already saved really a lot for that, just in case we did go. So this is what we bought:
A “high” dining room table. 38″ square, with four sturdy chairs. It is a perfect puzzle table, as you can see. And we rearranged the living room, so it sits in front of the patio door, so we can eat and do other stuff in the sun during the winter! It was marked down from $499 to $199. Is that awesome, or what?
Two new chairs for the student waiting area. Out with the huge and kind-of-weird-in-a-living room wicker chairs! These were originally $199 each and the striped one was marked down to $59 and the brown one down to $99. I love the neat way it looks now! Also Dad fixed my coat tree, which I think is really cute, too.
I love that! Looks like you got a great deal!
It was a good deal, wasn’t it? And it was also practice in spending money wisely, because we have been so caught up in NOT spending money that we sort of forgot that it was okay to spend it now and then. We sometimes give more away or spend more on gas to go somewhere. But to actually just buy something for ourselves is something rather rare. And quite fun!
Oooooh, I love them!! 🙂
