Not as exciting a day, although a few “wins.” We got our Federal income tax deposited in our account. What that means is that we have some “extra” money to put towards the items on that list. Of course, we won’t use it until we get to the end of the month staying on budget. I like the fact that the program is tracking the extra money we have as we fill in our expenses.
I used a lot more gas yesterday because I had to drive to Cameron for a lesson. Last one of the year, though, as she will be driving to Chetek for the next two, then the year is over.
Another: I made a roast and vegetables on Wednesday and not only was there enough left over for yesterday, there is enough for today as well. So all we have used for dinner this week is a rotisserie chicken and the beef roast, plus vegetables and stuff. Pretty cheap week.
Tomorrow is State music contest in Eau Claire. I am going to charge for mileage, so that gas will be reimbursed. I did fill up the Jimmy a couple nights ago. I used my debit card and found that our gas station doesn’t let you use them at the pump, so you have to go inside. Might as well use cash if you have to go in anyway. At least the local station doesn’t have a lot of stuff begging you to buy it, like Kwik Trip does!
Sometimes, when you swipe a debit card you have the option of choosing “credit card” when you run it through. If you have that option, you could do that and see if it works so you don’t have to go inside and be tempted by candybars and donuts! We use a debit card that pays us back 1% (and sometimes more depending on the place) if we use it for pin-less transactions. So, to get the benefit, we have to choose to run it as a credit card if we have the option.
So when you run it as a credit card, it still gets subtracted off your account like a debit card? It did give me the credit/debit option and I picked debit. Next time, I’ll try picking credit.
Yep, it work exactly like all the other times you use your debit card.
