It was hot so we were lazy. Actually we went to Eau Claire to pick up supplies for the 4th of July youth center fund raiser – over $400 worth of stuff, mostly beverages. Took a while to check out and even longer to load and unload!

Then when we got home we counted coins. We had a collection Don’s mom donated to the youth center a while back that we never took in. We counted all of it with these cool counter things we got at a garage sale earlier in the afternoon. The pennies we just counted a bunch then weighed them, then weighed all the rest compared to that weight.

When we were done, Dad asked if I wanted to count our piggy banks, so we counted them, too and put the money all in money paper rolls. Some will get changed into bills, but we kept all the quarters and larger.  We actually have enough saved to take a short vacation if we so desire and can’t afford it on our budget.

Speaking of which, today was the first, so I bought groceries. I hadn’t bought any since the kids were here, so we used up a lot of what was in the cupboards and freezer last week. But today I bought fresh fruit and dairy products, etc. Nice to have a full fridge again.
