Month: March 2011 (Page 2 of 2)

Brrrrrr…..again.

Well, it was way below zero again this morning and doesn’t seem likely to get above about 10 or 12 today. Have I said I’m really, really sick of the cold? Of being cold. Of driving in cold. Of looking at cold. Of smelling cold. Urgh! When will it be warm???

I have a list of something different than usual to do every day of March. Yesterday was to paint my toenails. They are beautiful. Today I am taking Sherlock for a walk out and around the school after supper. I guess I will really have to bundle up, but I’m looking forward to it nonetheless. I have all sorts of things planned, from favorite meals to prepare to hot baths to various jobs that need doing (not awful jobs, of course). That way the month means more than just waiting for warm weather. I’ve done this before and it helps me get through March, which always seems sooooooo long.

Keep warm, all you Northerners, and enjoy the relative warmth, you lucky Southerners!

Happy March 1st

Yes, March is finally here. And then it’s April and then it’s spring. Today is nice and sunny and rather warm, so it leads me to believe that this snow will eventually all melt and the grass will again be green and flowers will be blooming and all that good stuff. Of course, we could go to GA where all that is happening already, but that isn’t exactly an option right now. So I wait and count the days…

Dad put in his application for a job in occupational nursing at St. Joe’s Hospital in Chippewa Falls. It would be great if he gets it, because I can’t imagine a hospital closing down before he retires, so I think he would be set for at least the next 10 years. So please pray for him if you think of it.  The position has been open for a while, so maybe they are just waiting for someone as awesome and qualified as him to apply. We can only hope!

The upstairs room is ready to sand and paint. I haven’t decided on a wall color yet. Any suggestions? There will be a lot of white, because of the slanted ceilings. We will match the carpet to the walls, so it could really be any color.
